Avery is SO independent. I think she gets it from her Daddy for sure! She has been potty trained for over a month now and pretty much decided one day that she wanted to wear underwear and that was that. She doesn't have accidents at night either. Not too bad, I have definitely gotten off pretty easy with my kids when it comes to potty training. It's so nice only having one kid in diapers now.
Some things that Avery does are so funny/aggravating........ she won't let me wipe her when she's done going potty. She NEVER lets me know when she's done with the #2. I found out what she was doing to clean herself. She was dipping wads of toilet paper in the the toilet water and wiping herself that way. Then disposing of the wet t.p. into the garbage can. Nice! I remember Jace would sit on the toilet and yell "I'm DONE" for however long it took until I came in and helped him. Not Miss Avery! Also when we are saying prayers at night and I try to help her she looks up at me with one eye open and whispers loudly," LEMME DO IT!" Jace up until a few months ago wanted my help with his prayers.
Avery is always on the go. The only show she will sit down and watch all the way through is The Wiggles. I bought her the Cinderella DVD on Ebay and she LOVES IT! She probably asks me 5 times a day to watch it. She will actually sit through the whole movie! It has become a lifesaver. She wants to be just like Cinderella. I love that she is so girly!
Now onto a more devastating thing for me..... lastnight Avery got into the scissors and, well, I know you know where this is going. She cut chunks out of her hair. A lot of my friends girls recently had done this and I always was so thankful Avery hadn't because she literally has no hair to spare! I was soooo mad. I have become obsessed with her hair lately. I am so envious of all the little girls who have this gorgeous long hair, and all their moms who get to braid it and do all sorts of fun things with it. I was looking at old pics and noticed that Avery had way more hair last year than she does now. I don't get that! I stopped putting her hair in elastics and just making her wear little clips and headbands until her hair started filling in more. Good thing all my efforts were wasted!! Ugh, we will just have to continue to resort to headbands for the next year! WHY DID MY BOYS GET THE GORGEOUS THICK HAIR??

This pic doesn't do it justice. She cut all the hair on the side of her head. Kinda looks like a mullet. She also cut a couple of big chunks right on the top of her head down to the scalp and some random cuts thoughout her hair. It's going to take me awhile before I can laugh about this :( Any suggestions?? Is there such thing as baby extensions?!!

Oh no. McKenna too has cut her own hair. Gotta love little girls! lo1.
How can you get mad, at a face like that! She's too cute to get mad at! Whatever you do....DO NOT SHAVE HER HEAD! I know you think it will grow back thicker. That's a myth. You'll just have a bald 3 year old if you do that. You'll just have to resort back to headbands. And to be honest, I'm quite surprised Avery hasn't cut her hair before now. Ha ha! I know you don't think it's funny now, but it will be! And can I just tell you how funny her method of wiping is?! HAHA!! Anyhoos, her hair will grow back. All kids cut their hair at least once. (And yes, my friend's little neice cut her hair, and she got extensions!) Don't know if Aves has enough hair for the extensions to stick to, though ;) C'mon, it's funny!
Oh, and Avery just wanted to cut her hair all cute, like her momma! Can't get mad at that!
I love these layouts! She is such a cutie! Independent is good! Pretty soon she'll be fixin' dinner!
Ok I must admit I was laughing while reading this but I would have cried if I were you. Maybe now it will grow back thicker! No suggestions here - I am still waiting for my hair to thicken up after falling out after both kids :)
Oh my heck, I can't believe she dips the toilet paper in the water to wipe, that is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. She is beautiful, sorry about the hair cutting thing, I would die, I am so OCD about Ever's hair. I too lover her one piece jumper outfit!!!
And I love your hair, I wish I looked ok with short hair, but I don't. You look darling!
Oh my gosh Leah, that is sooo funny and sad that she cut her hair. I read your comment on my sister's blog about the whole hair thing, and now Avery did it!!!! Dude, you jinxed yourself! She's still way cute even with missing chunks out of her hair. :) It will grow back eventually.
That's so awesome she's potty trained! Tayson is kinda, he still has lots of accidents but i have been making him wear underwear for the most part. He's getting better at going on the potty.
By the way i was watching on the Tyra show (haha) that they have these head band things that have real hair connected to them so it's kinda like extensions, but in a headband for little girls! You should google it. I don't know what there called, maybe if you go on the Tyra website they'll have more info about them.
It had to happen! Every kid does it. Heck, I did it when I was a freshman in High School! Lol!
What a doll. You have to love a girl that is independent!
LOL LOL LOL I'm sorry, I laughed so hard I was crying when I read this, especially the part about baby hair extentions! Your hillarious Leah! Also too because I know the feeling but trust me you'll still look back and laugh; a little anyway! I balled when Tylar did it as if it were my own hair! It will grow back, actually some times that makes it grow back faster! At least it wasn't buzzed like Tylar's, it could have been worse. Just know every girl will do it once in there lifetime, just hopefully it will be the last now! Also that's awesome she's potty trained, I need to get Tylar to go on the potty, she has a couple times and I even tried the star chart, she will only do it on her time!
Bailey my oldest and her friend took turns cutting each others hair a couple of years ago, It was devastating!! We had to cut her hair really short, I has taken a while to grow back out but of course it does!! I don't think it would be worth the time, money and effort to do extensions, she is so beautiful anyway, everyone just looks at her beautiful face! And I'm sure she was just trying to cut it to look like mommy! (Which by the way your hair cut looks really cute on you!) Take care!!
Oh little Avery! Of course she would cut her hair and not one of your boys! She is so cute, it will grow out and be long again!
