I love Christmas and every year it gets more and more fun with the kids. They really grasp the meaning of Christmas and it's so fun to see their excitement. I'm so happy that we now have a few traditions that the kids look forward to every year. Here are the pics from the holidays....
Avery had a Christmas program at her preschool and was so excited that she got to be Mary and hold the baby Jesus. She practiced all week with her babies at home and would wrap them up tightly in blankets and be so sweet with it.
This year we decided to open up gifts on Christmas Eve morning right before heading off to Idaho. Our flight departed at 9:20am so I set my alarm clock early to give the kids enought time to open and play with their toys. Due to a very very late night with JD of wrapping and getting everything ready I accidentally slept in (shocker!!) I jumped out of bed when I realized what time it was and hurry and woke up the kids. We still had a little bit of time left before rushing to the airport. Santa came a day early for the kids since he knew they would be in Idaho for Christmas. That Santa is just so dang smart ;)
The kids in all their morning glory showing off their new rain boots and hats
Every year Jace has asked for a Jeep from Santa. We never had a yard big enough for him to ride it until now. He was so so excited when he came downstairs and saw what Santa had left him! Avery was really excited for him too until she realized that she got jipped with a little cosmo car, Haha! Check out the video at the end of this post... it's great!

Avery in the middle of her meltdown!

Funny story.... this 4wheeler lasted a whole 10 minutes before it got broken. JD took it back and traded it for a Razer. The kids LOVE IT!!! They all cruise around in the back yard taking turns driving it all day long. I'll post pics of it one day.
So after the kids opened their gifts and were cruising around on the 4wheeler, I look at the clock and its 7:55! I scream that we needed to be out the door right now! We were all still in our PJ's. Good thing I packed the night before. We scrambled around and ran out the door about 8:20. Kids without hair combed and teeth brushed, house a DISASTER! We screeched out the driveway in our minivan, just praying we catch our flight. JD is driving like a mad man, and I seriously felt like that part on Home Alone where they slept in and are rushing to make it to the airport on time. It was crazy! The airport that we were leaving from just happens to be 10 minutes from our home or we would have NEVER made it. So we pull up to the airport and see that the long term parking says that the lot is full. What the hell?! We see tons of parking spaces available. We drive around and see the overflow parking that is seriously 2 miles away. We don't have time for that! We pull up to the long term parking lot again and I look at the lot... look at JD... look at the lot, and say "JUST DO IT!" So we in our minivan just hop up over the curb and over a concrete divider and pull into a spot. I was just laughing the entire time. We get out of the van, grab our kids and the luggage and book it into the airport. I was just waiting for someone to come running after us saying we couldn't park there! After we got into the airport we couldn't believe how many people were waiting in line. This dinky little airport had a million people trying to fly out. Luckily they had a special express line for us "late" losers to catch our flight. And we caught it by the skin of our teeth! A memory I will never forget!

Crazies!
Christmas brunch at Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen's. They bought a new house up on a hill and it's the sweetest hill to sled down.

It was such a beautiful day with the sun shining. Made for a perfect sledding day! We had fun racing to the bottom of the hill and running right back up. I was so hot from all the running that i didn't need my coat! That's how bad "A" I am! Hahaha

Grandpa Lew pulling all the kids around on the 4 wheeler. They all had a blast!

All night sleepover at Mom and Dad's

Games with the adults and Brody who refused to sleep... it was 1:30am!
And Lana who would sleep in between turns! We'd just chuck a domino at her when it was her turn to play.

And the videos of Christmas eve morning...
That about sums up our holidays this year.
We had a wonderful Christmas with our family. We spent a lot of time with the Meacham side and when I was looking through my camera I couldn't believe I didn't get any pictures! I'm slacking, half of the pics I posted were emailed to me from my Dad. So Wendy or Roch, if you took any pics I'd love to see them! Love you all!

Looks like a great Christmas! I can't wait to see some pics of your house!
Hahahaha that video of JD on the 4-wheeler cracked me up! He totally just booked it down the stairs! Only JD! And that video of Avery's meltdown looks familiar. I remember when I thought Santa didn't bring me a barbie jeep that I wanted SOO bad, and dad found me in the corner crying about it! Then dad told me I had other gifts, and the barbie jeep was one of them, so I was okay. :)
Glad you could spend Christmas with the fam! Love ya!
P.S. thanks for the comment on my blog! That made my day!
Holy cow - what a crazy time trying to catch the flight!! So glad you did though, and I think I need a Hannah Montana wig like Avery's! :)
Crazy! I feel rushed for you! Post pics of the house! I'd love to see it! Ps..I think the wig is creepy :(
That story was awesome! Totally reminded me of Home Alone. Those videos were funny. Little Brody, gosh i love that kid. Can i take him for a day?! Serious, let's trade a kid for a day. :)
First off, Brody's boots are freaking awesome!! HA HA! LOVE!
I can totally picture you guys running through the airport, like Home Alone! Classic!
And Santa sure spoiled Jacers for Christmas! (And apparently Avery had the same thoughts. HA!) Gotta love meltdowns :)
Loved seeing you guys for Christmas! (Sorry I was a lame sledding partner. If it weren't for Landon pushing me off my sled, we would have won!)
I want to just squish all of your kiddos! Seriously blonde bombshells indeed. Now are you the one that said all the ladies had a crush on my hubby at the orthodontics office? Cuz I told him, and now he's so flattered he won't shut up. If not, then nevermind.haha
