Ok so I know this sounds so stupid but I have NOT been looking forward to turning 30. It's just so hard to believe that I am not in my 20's but that I am in fact growing older! I actually stumbled upon the above saying while browsing my new favorite site, "pinterest" and thought this quote was very appropriate and puts things into perspective for me. I should be thankful for the opportunity I have to be living and healthy and reflect on all that I have accomplished in my life. I'm a wife to an amazing man and mother to 3 almost 4 beautiful children! I can always remember saying to myself when I was younger that I wanted to have 4 kids by the time I was 30. With no real intent on making this happen it's crazy just how things have turned out!Ha! Anyways, I'm not going to get hung up on a number anymore. Age is all in how you feel and I am always going to be young at heart! 29 forever baby!! With that being said, let me brief you on how my 30th birthday went.....
After I woke up and got Jace off to his half day of school (Thanksgiving was the the next day) I decided to hurry and get the rest of the kids ready so they could go to the gym with me. Why not start my 30th bday off with my favorite step class?! I got to the gym and dropped my kids off at the daycare and went to my class. As I walked into class I was beyond excited to see my FAVORITE instructor was subbing that day. "Woo, a good day, " I thought!! So we are going through the routine with all these twists and twirls and I'm totally nailing the choreography and LOVING it. Suddenly about half way through the class, I go to step up on my bench and my pregnant butt totally misses the step. My ankle twists and I fall backwards, land smack on my butt then slid a few feet backwards and hit my head on the floor! Yeah, not a graceful fall AT ALL!! Apparently the lady behind me screamed which in turn made EVERYONE stop. Of course I was dead center in the class. All eyes were on me and the look on their faces was pure horror. I'm sure it was a sight to see! I just sat there on my fat butt and could NOT get up. You don't know how bad I wanted to just spring right up and pretend nothing happened. I had rolled my ankle and could not move. The music was still going and I just looked at the instructor and motioned for her to keep going!! Just ignore the prego sprawled out in the middle of the floor!! At this point I was kinda laugh/crying. I didn't know what to do. It was funny but at the same time I was hurt. Luckily I have the best friend who was in class with me and she went and got her husband in the gym and he was able to help me up and I was able to lean on him and hobble on out of class. That was quite the walk of shame going all through the gym like that. People were horrified and thought I was going into labor or something! Probably my most embarrassing moment to date! My friend got my kids out of the kids club for me and helped me out to my van. I left the gym with a sprained ankle, badly bruised tailbone, twisted wrist, and an even more bruised ego! I got home and the kids ran in to get JD to help me out of the car. When I saw him I just started crying. He was so confused and didn't know what was going on. I briefed him on my wonderful experience and he set me up in bed and pretty much took over the household duties. I was so upset because we were expecting JD's family for Thanksgiving the very next day. I had so much to do. I of course left a lot of the cleaning and such to be done that day and now I couldn't do any of it! I was definitely thankful for my sweet husband. He cleaned and helped with the kids and it was great. We had gotten a babysitter so we could go out for my birthday that night and I still wanted to go even though I felt like crap but I was NOT going to end my 30th birthday on this note. I was able to shower and clean up a little and we went to dinner. I was so thankful and felt lucky that the baby was fine and that I didn't break anything. It did take me a few weeks to recover and my tailbone is just now feeling ok again. My ankle is still swollen like a golf ball, but I think that's just because I am pregnant and everything is starting to swell. Hopefully that will go away once this baby is born.
The in laws came the next day and we had a wonderful feast! I hobbled around the kitchen but had a lot of help from them all. It was so nice to spend the weekend with them. Hopefully my next birthday goes a little more smoothly! Definitely won't forget my 30!

Thanksgiving...

The kid table... say cheese!!

This is how I spent my birthday!
Dinner with the hubs that night

Dessert! I LOVE creme brulee.
The kid table... say cheese!!

The adult table... I think we need some tips from the kids on how to look at the camera ;)

She's going to be a great big sister!

Lights at the mall. The women took the younger kids to the Muppet movie while the MEN went to an ASU game with the boys. They had a lot of fun!

Playing at the park with Grandma Wendy! Avery is a bit outnumbered wouldn't ya say?!
Out to dinner before everyone had to leave back home. All my kids couldn't get enough of Aunt Rochelle's baby. Especially little Aves. She was wanting to hold him constantly!
She's going to be a great big sister!
The crew! Happy Thanksgiving y'all!!
On a side note, I want to post everday so that I can get all caught up before this baby comes... less than 3 weeks away!! YIKES! Am I really ready????

You will make any age look good! Just like your mom!
Happy belated 30th! Sorry to hear about you misfortunes! ;)
I love that you guys always seem to have fun! Happy late B-Day!
Almost forgot you had a blog! Just kidding. I'm the bad one.
Anyway, sounds like a birthday you'll never forget! Just glad you and the baby are okay. Can't wait to see that cute baby girl!
Still can't believe you went to the gym on your birthday! That should be a freebie day! Glad that you and baby are ok though (minus the bruised ego). Now that you're 30, do you still have any friends? I'm mean, what do people in their 30's even do? Larissa wanted me to ask ;)
